IMPORTANT NOTICE:

The Police Department would like to advise all residents of a fraud attempt. One of our citizens was contacted by telephone and the caller claimed the Federal Government owed the resident several thousand dollars. The caller then asked for bank account information. This is currently under investigation and it appears to be fraud. If you receive a similar type of call, DO NOT GIVE ANY INFORMATION to the caller. Attempt to get a name and phone number, then contact the Police Department.

Chief Michael Webb
End of Watch - February 3rd, 2009

Dear Lord, be with me on my beat
this day and every day.
Grant that each weary block I walk,
may ease a brothers way.
Let me be kindly to the old
and to the young, be strong~
But let me triumph over those
whose acts are cruel and wrong.
And if according to your plan,
I am to lose my life,
Please bless with your protecting hand
my children and my wife.

In an effort to maintain a professional department, several officers have received specialized training. The Vinita Park Police Department has officers trained for traffic accident reconstruction, emergency management, firearm instruction and safety, crime scene processing, community affairs, hazardous materials mitigation and bicycle patrol. The Vinita Park Police Department recently acquired Automated External Defibrillators so lifesaving assistance can be given to victims of heart attack even before EMS arrives.
